A: Gunnar Optiks is a technology company that develops digital performance eyewear to help reduce the side effects of looking at a computer screen or any other digital hand-held device for extended periods of time. A: GUNNAR’s digital eyewear represents the perfect pairing between technology and style. The precision frames are custom designed to increase the moisture and reduce the air flow surrounding the user’s eyes. The lenses are made of diAMIX™ and provide an increased focal radiance to ease the constant viewing of a computer screen by putting the eyes in a semi-relaxed state. Q: Has GUNNAR conducted research to prove that its high-performance digital eyewear helps prevent CVS?
A: GUNNAR has conducted extensive research and testing on the actions required of the eye to properly view computer and handheld screens. That research and testing has led to the creation of a full line of premium eyewear that does the “work” required of the eye to properly view the screens resulting in a clearer image, less eye strain and increased stamina.
In a recent study of full-time computer users, 65 percent preferred the GUNNAR lens to a placebo lens. When asked if they were able to multi-task with their new high-performance digital eyewear, 62 percent indicated that they preferred to do so with their GUNNAR eyewear on versus wearing nothing. The GUNNAR lens reduced external symptoms of irritation or burning of the eyes, tearing, or watery eyes, dry eyes, and tired eyes.

A: GUNNAR has four collections: Sphere, Catalyst, Metallic and Attaché with a total of 15 styles:
- GUNNAR Sphere – available in five colors – onyx, espresso, crimson, ash and cloud
- GUNNAR Catalyst – Edge, Bit Surfer, Shredder, Wi-Five, Groove
- GUNNAR Metallic – Weezer, Rocket, Ombre, Marley, Sheadog

Each comes with a custom tuned light transmission profile, optimized focusing power and ergonomic frame geometry.

Q: Is there line specifically for children, women and gamers?
A: Gunnar Optiks will be launching its line of performance digital eyewear for children and women toward the end of 2008. There will be a GUNNAR line for gamers available in early 2009

Q: What if I purchase a pair of Gunnar eyewear and I have a difficult time adjusting to the i-AMPª lens technology?
A: GUNNAR® Optiks digital eyewear improves visual performance for many computer users. It is an excellent “out-of-the-box” solution for those with 20/20 vision or 20/20 corrected (contact lenses, surgery etc.) vision. However, some physical environments or visual conditions fall outside the range of GUNNAR® accommodation. If you are not completely satisfied with the standard GUNNAR® solution or range of accommodation you may want to consider our GUNNAR Rx program. Ask you eye care professional for more information.
